Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Job Description: The Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory RN provides specialized nursing care to pediatric congenital heart patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional catheterization procedures. The RN is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care throughout all phases of care, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to support high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review patient information, allergies, medications, and consent forms.
• Ensure cath procedure rooms are ready with all available medications/equipment, including emergency equipment.
• Coordinate with team members including physicians, APPs, and anesthesia providers.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic, interventional, biopsy, and electrophysiology procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and perform circulating and scrubbing roles.
• Operate point-of-care testing equipment and administer contrast.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Experience in pediatric nursing preferred, but not necessary.
• Knowledge of congenital heart disease and advanced assessment skills.
• Ability to care for critically ill neonates through adolescents.
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required.
• Current PA State Board approved RN license.
