Payroll Specialist

Job Description

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of payroll processing experience , including garnishments, taxes, and year-end activities
• High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Accounting, Business, or related field)
• FPC or CPP certification preferred

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in payroll systems, specifically Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft, and ADP
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills , particularly Excel
• Ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously

Core Competencies

• Strong analytical skills , including retroactive pay calculations and time analysis
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee data
• Solid understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
• Effective communication skills with internal teams and employees

Functional Capabilities

• End-to-end payroll processing, including wage calculations, deductions, and tax handling
• Maintenance of payroll records and HRIS data
• Support for audits, reconciliations, and compliance reporting
• Ability to resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries
