Operations Supervisor

Come join one of the largest transportation organizations in all of North America! First Student is currently hiring for an Operations Supervisor. In this role you will focus on supervising day-to-day operations of our buses, scheduling maintenance and fueling, and ensuring a safe work environment. Job Responsibilities Demonstrates and promotes a safe work environment at all times. Ensures drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to complete their routes. Secures completed charter paperwork for the Location Manager. Coordinates field trips by assigning personnel and vehicles. Assists drivers with establishing route descriptions. Ensures drivers follow scheduled fueling and mechanical work. Observes safety practices of personnel and takes corrective action when necessary. Assists the Location Manager during training sessions and kickoff meetings. Attends disciplinary meetings with the Location Manager. May interact with school officials at smaller bus locations. May drive bus on occasion if necessary. Assists dispatcher when necessary. May manage small locations under the overall direction of the Location Manager. Ensures routes meet state, local, and vendor requirements. Reviews time sheets prior to submission to payroll. Minimum Requirements 3-5 years experience in the transportation industry. Willing to obtain a CDL (we train). Good supervisory skills. Excellent communication and organization skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Computer skills. Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
