VP of Logistics

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to assume the role of Vice President of Logistics. This pivotal position requires an individual with a proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive logistics strategies that enhance operational efficiency and drive business success across multiple sectors.Compensation: $175,000 - $235,000, plus a 30% performance bonus and a robust 401K plan.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the safe, cost-effective transportation of inbound and outbound goods, including supplier freight, intercompany materials, and finished products.Oversee company fleet operations and third-party logistics, including rail, freight forwarding, and warehousing.Develop and manage logistics performance metrics using data analysis tools such as KPIs and pivot tables.Negotiate and optimize transportation contracts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.Drive enterprise transformation and process improvements, leveraging technology to enhance logistics capabilities.Travel as needed, up to 40%, and maintain a presence in Pittsburgh.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Over 10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.Proven expertise in managing logistics across diverse products and transportation modes.Experience with global logistics, including international freight and customs activities.Strong financial acumen and experience with logistics budgeting and cost analysis.Advanced analytical skills and familiarity with logistics and fleet management systems.Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.Location: Candidates must be based in or willing to travel to Pittsburgh.
