About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with TalentBurst, Inc. to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Shelby North, North Carolina!

Experience & Certifications Required

• Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
• Minimum 6 months EPIC experience required

Patient Population

• Cardiac
• Respiratory
• Neurological
• General medical/surgical observation patients

Staffing & Ratios

• RN ratio: 1:5–6
  • May increase to 1:7–8 during surge staffing
• CNA ratio: 1:12
• Charge nurse available (may carry patients)
• Additional support:
  • Phlebotomy
  • IV/VAT Team
  • Respiratory Therapy (24/7)
  • Intensivist (24/7)
  • Remote telemetry monitoring

Required Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Management of non-titrating cardiac drips:
  • Cardizem
  • Amiodarone
• IV starts
• Blood administration
• Wound care/dressing changes
• Tubes/drains management
• General Med/Surg nursing skills

Equipment & Systems

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitoring: Masimo
