Your Role: What You'll Be Doing

As our Aquatics Director, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of our aquatic programs, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff, members, and participants. You'll lead with a hands-on approach, driving excellence in program delivery, team development, and facility management. Here's a snapshot of what your days might look like:

• Lead Aquatic Operations : Be the visible leader in our aquatic spaces, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional member experiences.
• Build and Develop Teams : Hire, coach, and support staff to create a strong, accountable team that thrives on collaboration and excellence.
• Ensure Safety and Compliance : Maintain pools, facilities, and safety systems to meet YMCA and regulatory standards, while preparing staff to respond confidently in emergencies.
• Drive Program Growth : Use data and feedback to enhance swim lessons, lifeguarding, and other aquatic programs that make a difference.
• Manage Resources : Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll, and budgets with responsibility and efficiency.
• Foster Community Connections : Build relationships with staff, members, and participants, creating an inclusive culture grounded in respect and teamwork.

What You Bring: Skills and Qualifications

We're looking for a leader who's ready to dive in and make an impact. Here's what we need from you:

• Experience and Leadership : At least 3 years of experience delivering high-quality aquatic programs and 1 year of supervisory experience (2 years preferred).
• Certifications : Current Red Cross Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor, Basic Life Support (CPRO), First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications (or ability to attain within specified timeframes).
• Education : High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Skills : Strategic thinking, inspiring communication, and a commitment to inclusion and safety.
• Physical Readiness : Ability to meet and maintain Red Cross Lifeguard swim test standards and certification requirements.
• Additional Certifications : Certified Pool Operator (within 180 days of hire), Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer (within 1 year of hire).

Schedule and Compensation

• Position : Full-time, non-exempt (30-35 hours/week, schedule varies based on facility needs)
• Pay : $20.00 per hour
