Job Position: Executive Assistant

Location: ATHENS, TN 37303

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr + DOE

Shift: 1st - Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.

Description:

This position reports to the City Manager and provides administrative support to the City Council and various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Council Support: Prepares meeting agendas, processes minutes, and handles legal notices/public hearings.
Office Management: Manages correspondence, filing, supplies, office equipment, petty cash, notary services, and the city key system.
Administration: Maintains municipal codes and ordinances, schedules travel, manages board/committee databases, and administers alcohol licensing/permits.

Requirements:

Education/Exp: Associate's degree + relevant experience preferred.
Credentials: Valid Tennessee driver's license and Certified Municipal Clerk designation.
Key Skills: Athens Municipal Code/Charter knowledge, Roberts Rules of Order, strong communication, and computer proficiency.
