Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience and advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU), the only dedicated Neuro Critical Care Unit in Northern New England
• Serves as a Primary Stroke Center treating ischemic (thrombectomy, TPA) and hemorrhagic (ventriculostomies, emergent evacuation) stroke patients
• Cares for neurosurgery patients including tumor resections and brain/spine abscesses, as well as neuro-medical patients with meningitis, encephalitis, and neuromuscular disorders
• Float to SICU and other critical care units as needed
• SICU is an 18-bed unit caring for surgical, trauma, neuro, plastics, multiple organ failure, and sepsis patients
• 36 hours per week schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
• Experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring required
• Experience with ICP monitoring required
• Experience caring for ventilated patients on pressors, inotropes, and vasoactive medications required
• Experience assisting with line insertion and maintenance, including lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients required
• Experience with ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, and EVDs required
• Experience with PA lines and waveform interpretation required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a complex neuro and surgical patient population
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
