Program Coordinator (Specially Funded) Job ID: 322548 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular Regular/Temporary: Regular Hiring Salary Range: $22.06 - $28.67 hourly, DOE Grade: 112 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm; some evenings and weekends may be required Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6am-4:30pm, some Saturdays 100% In-Person, hours may vary due to event schedule Work Calendar: 12 Months Job Summary The Program Coordinator oversees the college's catering program, managing the full event booking process through coordination with internal departments and external clients, and preparing event orders. Responsibilities also include supervising and assisting with catering setups, monitoring accounts receivable, and providing direction and support to catering assistants. Essential Functions 30% – Manages auxiliary services related event bookings with main focus on catering events, coordinating with internal teams and external clients via email, phone, and in‑person interactions; prepares and distributes banquet event orders (BEO’s); assists the program manager with ensuring proper workflow, documentation, approvals, signatures, and invoicing for Facility Use Agreements and Co‑Sponsorship contracts. 30% – Provides assistance with setup, service, and breakdown of catering events. 20% – Generates and distributes invoices; tracks and manages accounts receivable to ensure timely payments. 10% – Schedules and manages catering staff for events and assists with event services staff. 10% – Assists with event room set‑ups and fleet vehicle reservations, as needed; performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or a directly related field and one year of experience in researching information, gathering data, performing preliminary analysis and preparing reports.
• OR an equivalent combination of degree and directly related full‑time work experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.

Desired Qualifications Two (2) or more years’ experience in catering, hospitality or food service. Knowledge of health and safety guidelines related to catered events. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) and catering/event booking software. Flexibility to work Saturdays and evenings as scheduled events dictate. One (1) year of full‑time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years. Special Working Conditions Must have a current Maricopa County Food Handler’s Card or the ability to obtain one. Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen and lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs. Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver’s License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving.
