Emergency Care Center NurseProvides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.Required qualifications:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045) for new hires after 2012.Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.The following certifications upon completion of department orientation: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke PSA/ACE (during orientation) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention.The following courses/certifications within one (1) year of completing department orientation: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC).All certifications must be maintained thereafter.Preferred qualifications:Certification in nursing specialty area.Minimum of one (1) year of emergency RN experience.Required license and certs:ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life SupportBLS: Basic Life Support/CPRFL RN: FL Registered Nurse LicenseEmployment screening requirements:As part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's commitment to keeping people safe, all individuals providing care to vulnerable populations are required to undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
