This position is ideal for a dependable nurse who enjoys one-on-one care, short routine visits, and working independently in a private home setting.

McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency providing compassionate, one-on-one care to clients in the comfort of their homes. We are currently hiring PRN LPNs or RNs for short nursing visits in the North Port and Port Charlotte area.

Schedule

• 2 visits per week ongoing
• Approximately 1 hour per visit
• PRN scheduling based on client needs and nurse availability
• North Port / Port Charlotte area

Position Overview
The nurse will provide routine private-duty nursing support for a client in the home. Visits will include medication compliance checks, vital signs, observation, documentation, and communication with the office team.

Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Confirm the client is taking medications as directed
• Check and document vital signs
• Observe and report changes in condition, concerns, or safety issues
• Complete accurate nursing documentation for each visit
• Communicate professionally with the office team as needed
• Follow the client’s care plan and agency policies
• Maintain client dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

• Active Florida LPN or RN license in good standing
• Home care or private duty nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a private home setting
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
• Current hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to complete
• TB test, PPD, or lab work within the last 6 months, or chest X-ray within the last 5 years
• Level 2 AHCA background screening, or willingness to complete
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
