Financial Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis (On-site, Plant City FL) Propane Ninja is seeking a FP&A Analyst to join our finance team and help build the financial reporting, planning, and decision-support structure needed for our next stage of growth. Important: This is a full-time, on-site position based at our office in Plant City, Florida. This is not a remote or hybrid role. Candidates must currently live within a reasonable commuting distance of Plant City or be actively relocating to the area before employment begins. This role will focus on budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, cost visibility, return on capital, operational reporting, and live management dashboards. The right candidate will understand accounting well enough to work closely with the Controller and accounting team, but will be more forward-looking than a traditional accounting role. We are looking for someone who can turn financial and operational data into clear insight for ownership, management, sales, and operations. This person should be comfortable working in a growing, operationally complex business where reporting systems are still being improved and clean data is critical. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, fuel, logistics, route delivery, construction, service, or another equipment- and operations-heavy business is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support company planning and decision-making. Create reporting that shows profitability by customer segment, division, product line, route, service line, and customer type. Partner with the Controller and accounting team to ensure FP&A reporting aligns with the general ledger, financial statements, and sound accounting practices. Support cost accounting and operational finance analysis, including labor cost, delivery cost, inventory cost, equipment cost, service cost, and overhead allocation. Develop return-on-capital models for major investments such as vehicles, tanks, cages, equipment, route expansion, and growth initiatives. Analyze gross margin, EBITDA, working capital, cash flow, debt service, and other key financial performance indicators. Build live dashboards and management reports using Odoo wherever possible, along with other reporting tools as needed. Improve the reliability, structure, and usefulness of company data across finance, operations, sales, and customer reporting. Identify margin leakage, pricing issues, underperforming customer segments, inefficient processes, and opportunities to improve profitability. Automate recurring reports and manual analysis where practical. Use AI responsibly to improve reporting, analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency while maintaining proper review, accuracy, and confidentiality. Present findings clearly to ownership and management, including practical recommendations rather than just raw reports. Must Have Must be able to work full-time on-site at our Plant City, FL office. This role is not remote or hybrid. 3+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, cost accounting, operations finance, or a similar role. Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, gross margin, EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital. Bachelor's degree in finance, account, ecomomics, business analytics, or a related field Experience building budgets, forecasts, dashboards, financial models, and management reports. Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills. Ability to work with imperfect data, clean it, structure it, and turn it into reliable reporting. Ability to communicate financial findings clearly to non-finance managers. Strong attention to detail with a practical, business-minded approach. Comfortable working in a growing company where systems and processes are actively being built and improved. Nice to have Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, fuel, propane, route delivery, construction, or service-based businesses. Experience with Odoo or another ERP system. Experience with QBO, Bill.com, Power BI, Looker Studio, SQL, Google Sheets, or similar reporting tools. Experience creating profitability reporting by customer, product, route, division, or segment. Experience with cost accounting, inventory costing, job costing, equipment utilization, or labor analysis. Experience supporting lender reporting, debt modeling, covenant tracking, or capital expenditure planning. Experience using AI tools responsibly in a finance or business analysis environment. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is analytical, practical, curious, and business-minded. They understand accounting, but they are not limited to accounting. They can work with the Controller to protect accuracy while also helping ownership and operations understand what is really driving profit, cash flow, and performance. They are comfortable digging into messy data, asking smart questions, building useful reports, and challenging assumptions respectfully. They do not just report what happened last month; they help the company understand what is likely to happen next and what decisions should be made now. Reporting Relationship This role will work closely with the Controller and accounting team and will also support ownership and senior management with budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, dashboards, capital planning, and strategic decision support.
