Warehouse Employee/Forklift OperatorKamco Supply Corp. of Boston is New England's largest one stop source and distributor of commercial building products including acoustical ceiling systems, architectural doors and hardware, drywall, steel framing, insulation, and exterior systems.We are seeking to add a Warehouse Employee/Forklift Operator to our team. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of building materials and products. This role supports warehouse operations, customer order fulfillment, and delivery activities while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer service.We want a team player who can assist our drivers by loading/unloading construction materials on and off our trucks. The team member will help with daily warehouse tasks and collaborate with the team to ensure all the daily tasks are completed in a timely manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:Receive, inspect, and move incoming materials to appropriate storage or staging areasSort and stock materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to established procedures (e.g., size, type, product code)Pick, assemble, and prepare customer orders for pickup and deliveryLoad and unload materials onto trucks, including manual handling when requiredAssist drivers with deliveries and related labor activities as neededOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with safety standardsPerform shipping, receiving, and order picking functions to support daily operationsMaintain accurate material identification through labeling and documentationSupport inventory control activities, including cycle counts and use of RF scanning devicesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring aisles are clear and materials are properly storedFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Provide professional and courteous service to internal and external customersRequirements:Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentPrior warehouse, distribution, or building materials experienceAbility to safely operate material handling equipment (training may be provided)Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentReliable attendance and transportation requiredPreferred Qualifications:Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experienceKnowledge of building materials, including drywall/sheetrock handlingExperience with warehouse management systems or RF scanning technologyPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periodsAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 50–100 pounds on a regular basisMust be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination, including a lift test and drug screeningWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role:Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor warehouse settings and environments plus jobsitesExposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitationModerate to high noise levels consistent with warehouse operationsPossible use of machinery, equipment, and vehiclesWe offer a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid vacation, holidays, and MORE!Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical examination including a lift test and drug screening.We will train the right person!The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
