The selected candidate will be expected to independently drive complex engineering activities from definition through execution while consistently meeting commitments, schedules, and business objectives. The engineer supports design, development, optimization, and test of elevator components. This role focuses on structural integration of mechanical components associated with machines, governors, hydraulic systems, belt systems, and position reference systems for commercial elevator products.On a typical day you will:Lead complex mechanical engineering projects and activitiesTake full accountability for technical performance, execution quality, and delivery of assigned commitments to meet agreed program timing, cost, reliability, and performance targetsSimultaneously lead and execute multiple propulsion engineering projects with competing priorities and aggressive timelinesDrive engineering work to perform advanced engineering analyses including structural analysis and engineering hand calculationsLead root-cause investigations for complex technical, manufacturing, and field reliability issuesDevelop robust corrective and preventive actions and ensure closure of identified issuesServe as a technical leader and subject matter expert for propulsion-related mechanical systemsMentor and provide technical guidance to lower-lever engineersSupport prototype builds, test validation, launch activities, and production issue resolutionDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, manufacturability, product quality, and cost optimizationContribute to long-term platform strategy, standardization, and engineering best practicesCompetencies:Proven ownership of complex mechanical component and system development from concept through production with accountability for performance, quality, and deliveryConsistent track record of meeting commitments across multiple concurrent projectsAbility to independently prioritize, execute, and drive technical work to closureStrong cross-functional collaborationResults-driven, organized, and effective in fast-paced, multi-project environmentsIdeal Candidate will haveExpertise in elevator mechanical component design and integrationStrong background in Design for Cost/VAVEProduct/Subsystem ownership including change management, roadmapping, …etc.What you will need to be successful:BS degree in mechanical engineering degree with 7+ years’ experience or a MA/MS degree with 5+ years’ experience Strong engineering calculations and analytical capability, including FEA, with sound engineering judgmentCompetency in modeling and analyzing mechanical structures using 3D CAD software, e.g., Creo, Ansys, SolidWorks, Catia, etc.Utilize quality methodologies such as RRCA, DFMEA, and other tools to promote continuous improvementExperience with hand calculations and staticsTechnical leadership with ability to influence decisions and mentor other engineersEffective problem solver with strong root-cause analysis and corrective action experienceFluent in EnglishUS Citizenship or permanent resident alien status requiredAdditional Comments:Given the nature of the position, applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship.What we offer:We offer a 401(k) plan with a generous company match and an automatic retirement contribution for your future financial security from day one of your employment, you and your eligible dependents will receive comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage.
