Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• ICU setting with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Epic charting system experience required
• Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU work settings

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• MAB Training required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration required
• Ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning skills required
• Experience with cardiac drip titration and continuous IV sedation required
• Experience managing patients with CVA/acute stroke and multisystem organ dysfunction required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Chemotherapy administration, CRRT/CVVHD, and advanced cardiac device management (ECMO, IABP, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD) skills preferred
• Neurological monitoring skills such as EVD, ICP monitoring, and hypothermia protocol management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation tailored to patient age and condition
• Demonstrate leadership on the unit and participate in multidisciplinary patient care conferences
• Serve as a patient advocate and support family involvement in care decisions
• Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius rule at the local rate
• Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers are not required for this position
