Job Summary:
Postpartum Nurse (L&D PP) in a healthcare setting. This role involves providing nursing care to women during the postpartum period, supporting maternal and newborn health, and monitoring patient progress. The position requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • 3 years of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in labor and delivery or postpartum nursing.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (ANRP) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring.
  • Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IStat.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform adult cardiac monitoring.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of newborn medication administration including IV therapy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets/lights, radiant warmers, and newborn care equipment.
  • Knowledge to support gynecological teaching and post-operative bladder training.
  • Knowledge to support maternal-newborn teaching.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of labor and delivery experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of postpartum experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience.

This position involves providing comprehensive postpartum care, assisting in maternal and newborn education, and supporting clinical procedures such as fetal monitoring, medication administration, and neonatal interventions.
