Duration:         12 Months – Possible Extension/Conversion
Location:         Milan, IL 61264
Shift:                2nd/3rd Shift Split – OT as Required
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Description:

Job Summary

Coordinate material flow, inventory, production schedules, and part availability across multiple factory departments. The role ensures production teams have the required materials on time, resolves shortages and inventory issues, and supports the execution of production plans.

Key Responsibilities

Material Planning & Inventory

• Coordinate the procurement, expediting, production, and delivery of materials.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and material availability.
• Identify and resolve material shortages and inventory errors.
• Expedite parts to prevent production interruptions.
• Manage rejected materials and coordinate their return to the source.
• Audit material replenishment cycles and support replenishment planning.
• Monitor critical shortage reports to ensure part availability.

Production Coordination

• Coordinate material activities across multiple factory departments.
• Use the Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedules.
• Support the tactical execution of production plans.
• Process inbound and outbound material transactions.
• Support production schedule changes and material requirements.
• Implement outputs from engineering releases and change-management processes.

Operations & Reporting

• Monitor order queues, workflow, priorities, and action items.
• Identify at-risk orders and support recovery plans.
• Track on-time delivery, backlog, aged orders, productivity, quality, safety, and service-level KPIs.
• Analyze material shortages, identify trends, and recommend solutions.

Communication & Coordination

• Serve as a point of contact between production employees and support teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities and resources.
• Communicate process updates and operational information.
• May provide work direction to material handlers, stock chasers, or truckers.

Process Improvement & Compliance

• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain standard work instructions and department procedures.
• Support training, audits, assessments, and corrective-action tracking.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Resource Management

• Monitor operational and office supply requirements.
• Coordinate equipment requests, repairs, and service needs.
• Support workforce planning and department scheduling.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in material planning, inventory control, production coordination, or supply chain operations.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage material shortages and prioritize critical requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to analyze inventory, production, and KPI data.
• Ability to work across multiple departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to provide work direction to material-handling personnel when required.
