Accounting Supervisor

Accounting Supervisor Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid)$90,000- $110,000Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to support the leadership team and provide day-to-day oversight within the accounting department. This role will review and guide the work of staff and senior accountants, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support monthly and annual close processes across multiple entities. The position also handles research on GAAP and tax matters, prepares nonprofit tax filings, and assists with audit requests and management reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a continuous-improvement mindset.Overview Of The Role:Provide oversight and direction to accounting staff, ensuring adherence to established processes and controlsReview journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentationAssist with monthly close, including preparation of journal entries and financial statements for multiple entitiesConduct research on GAAP, tax regulations, and complex accounting issuesPrepare information for external audits and internal management reportingAssist with nonprofit tax filings (including 990s) and other regulatory reportingDevelop analyses and ad hoc reports as neededSupport ongoing process-improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracyMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in AccountingExperience preparing complex financial reports and resolving accounting issuesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint One of the following: CPA license with 3+ years of corporate accounting experience, or4+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledgePreferred Qualifications:Active CPA certification1+ year of supervisory or team-lead experience
