Position PAths/Concussion Room Academic Coordinator 2026-2027 Location Derry, NH Job Id 694 # of Openings 1 Contract Period Academic-year position, 180 days, 7 hours/day plus 30 hrs. meeting/workshop time, non-exempt, hourly Supervisor Associate Dean of Academics – School Counseling Director, PAths Clinical Coordinator, Section 504 Coordinator Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent required. Prior experience working with students—especially those with medical conditions, social or emotional challenges, and academic needs—is preferred. Familiarity with concussions and adolescent mental health is also desirable. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Google Suite, and comfort using technology, including the PAths program’s online forms, are essential. Objective Provide academic support, coordination, and supervision for students in the PAths and Chalk Talk Programs. Communicate and collaborate with staff and parents/guardians regarding individual student needs. Duties Direct Services: Concussion Support Observe and collect data regarding concussion symptoms using self-report symptom inventories and teacher/parent/guardian observations. Report findings to the 504 Coordinator. This may include neurological assessments, vital signs, and other various evaluations from medical professionals. Work with the Concussion Management Team as needed to address the individual needs of students. Attend the monthly Dartmouth Hitchcock meetings. PAths Observe and collect data on the needs of our PAths students as they move through the program and report these findings to the PAths Team for program growth. Co-facilitate or facilitate an “Alumni” group when we have active participants, and assist with a mentoring team when this program is established. Both Programs Assist students in organizing their coursework, managing assignments, and developing effective study skills, while providing appropriate academic support. Provide academic coordination for students in both PAths and Chalk Talk, such as developing work trackers with classroom teachers. Collect student data and provide anecdotal information to the concussion team and/or the PAths program members. Monitor student activities while they are in the PAths/Chalk Talk classroom. Provide coverage in the Student Support Center for students with 504s, as needed. Monitor student progress regularly, sharing observations with teachers, school counselors and other service providers in order to facilitate educational progress. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the School Counseling Director. Model good organizational skills, helping students to plan responsive strategies. Demonstrate sensitivity to students’ individual circumstances while maintaining clear expectations for completing their work. Help students organize their tasks and prioritize their work.
