Office Administrator

Job Description Moriah United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC is seeking a part-time Office Administrator to serve as the church office receptionist, financial secretary, and administrative assistant. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and self‑motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a desire to partner with and support the pastor, staff, and members of the church. This is a 15‑hour position, with expected hours 9 a.m.–2 p.m. three days per week, with occasional evening hours. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or higher degree with relevant experience and/or professional certification is preferred. Effective computer skills with standard office software including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace tools, email, and related programs. Experience or training in accounting/bookkeeping. Basic design skills using Canva or similar tools. Demonstrate ability to work independently with limited supervision. Familiarity with Realm or similar church or client management software is a plus. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ability to respect confidentiality with sensitive records and conversations. Duties Serve as church office receptionist during business hours, answering phones and email and greeting members and visitors who come to the office. Serve as the Financial Secretary of the church: post contributions to Realm church accounting system, create checks and coordinate with check signers, pay bills, process semi‑monthly payroll and file payroll taxes, and distribute bank statements to appropriate parties. Maintain membership records, attendance records, contact information for members and active participants, and church directory information. Create and publish worship bulletins for weekly worship and special services. Prepare projection slides for weekly worship and special services. Create and publish monthly church newsletter. Create and share flyers and marketing materials for church events as needed. Assist with content updates to church website. Maintain church calendar. Take and distribute minutes from bi‑monthly Church Council meetings (evening). Assist with various administrative and support tasks as needed. Compensation and Benefits Compensation range $18–20 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off beginning after one year of service.
