About the Position

Job Title

Travel RN – Cardiac Telemetry (Nights)

Saint Louis, MO | Inpatient

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Manage patients with CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (AFib, flutter, SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis needs; overflow patients may include sepsis, urology, surgical, withdrawal, isolation, and GI bleed cases
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips including Amiodarone and Cardizem; manage central lines including HD catheters, ports, and PICCs
• Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• Maintain patient rights, confidentiality, and professional accountability in all aspects of care delivery

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or hold an active Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Telemetry or Cardiac Telemetry experience
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry rhythms
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation
• Familiarity with dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitroglycerin, and milrinone drips
• Experience managing chest tubes and other drains
• Experience with CIWA (alcohol/drug withdrawal) protocol
