The nursing facility includes a 15-bed Dementia Care unit. MVH has been providing services to Veterans since 1896. The Montana Veterans' Home is located next to the Flathead River, just minutes away from Glacier National Park. A large pavilion, walking paths, and protected courtyards provide ample opportunities for outdoor access. The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living. Other responsibilities include: measuring and recording residents' vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiratory rate; assisting residents with daily living activities such as eating, personal hygiene, and dressing; and providing compassionate support to residents/family members and encouraging open communication.Position: Certified Nursing AideLocation: Montana Veterans Home, 400 Veterans Drive, Columbia Falls, MT 59912Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week.Day Shifts: Tuesday-Saturday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm; Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm; Friday - Tuesday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pmEvening Shifts: Tuesday - Saturday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm; Tuesday - Saturday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pmNight Shifts: Saturday - Wednesday, 10:00 pm - 6:30 am; Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 pm - 6:30 amLPN and CNA shift differential shall be paid as follows: Evening Shift $1.75/hr. Night Shift $3.00/hr.Physical and Environmental Demands: Work is of medium demand and involves lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, stooping, twisting, and extensive standing. Lift 50# occasionally; Lift 15-20# frequently; Push/pull 60# occasionally/ Reach forward and below frequently. Must have the ability to transfer residents safely. Must be able to effectively communicate with patients. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. May have to work with uncooperative residents at times.Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): High School Diploma or equivalent. Montana CNA certification. Two years of CNA experience. Other equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
