Nursing Department Manager, Cardiovascular Operating Room FTLocation: Onsite, Los Angeles, CAJob Description: Sign-on bonus of 10% (some restrictions apply).Job Summary: Manages nursing services and ensures safe patient care within the Cardiovascular Operating Room. Oversees service delivery aligned with nursing standards, organizational goals, and performance measures.Essential Responsibilities:Manages 24-hour nursing services to meet or exceed cost, quality, and clinical standards.Establishes and maintains patient care and service standards.Develops strategic plans for integrated services across the care continuum.Manages continuous improvement in clinical practices, services, and operations.Monitors department budgets and identifies strategies for cost reduction and improved quality.Determines appropriate staff mix, screens, hires, and trains department staff.Develops, implements, and monitors departmental policies and procedures.Manages human resource and risk management issues.Promotes an organizational culture of safety.Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, including 3 years of management experience.Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters).Registered Nurse License (California).Basic Life Support.Additional Requirements:Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, TJC, and other regulations.Demonstrated interpersonal and management skills.Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with electronic medical records.Masters degree.National Certification in specialty.Management experience in a union environment.Non-negotiable Requirements:CA RN license.American Heart Association BLS.BSN or MSN.Minimum 5 years of FT equivalent operating room RN experience in an acute care setting, with a few years of cardiothoracic OR experience.Minimum 3 years of FT equivalent Manager or Supervisor experience.Position Overview:This role manages the Cardiovascular Operating Room Department at Los Angeles Medical Center, overseeing 5 OR suites with approximately 35 direct reports.Exciting Opportunities:Stability and growth opportunities.Variable Compensation:10% sign-on bonus.
