Where You Will Work The Oncology Palliative Medicine Outpatient Clinic provides specialized supportive care to patients within the Levine Cancer Institute, at eight clinic locations. We care for adult oncology patients across all stages of disease, with a focus on symptom management, quality of life, and aligning care with patient goals. We offer both in-person and telehealth visits to manage complex symptoms related to cancer and its treatment. All locations provide access to same-day supportive care, including in-office medication administration. Our Morehead location features a four-chair infusion suite capable of administering IV fluids and electrolyte replacement to help prevent emergency department visits. We’re Looking For: Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment. Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association Minimum two (2) years nursing experience preferred. Hospice experience needed, Oncology experience preferred Previous leadership (charge or team lead) experience preferred. What You’ll Do: Responsible for the direct provision of patient care and for assisting the manager with daily operations to include but not limited to coordination of patient care/outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communications, patient throughput, program development and oversight, patient, physician and employee rounding, selection, development, and retention of staff, clinical supervision and performance appraisal, performance improvement activities, service recovery and compliance with regulatory agency requirements Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing service administration and delivery of care in the department. Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administers medications as necessary.
