Title Title Discrimination and Harassment Resource Advisor and Support Specialist Posting Number Posting Number C00440JP Department Department Inclusion and Diversity Job Summary The Discrimination and Harassment Resource Advisor and Support Specialist provides ongoing support to students, faculty, and staff who report experiencing discrimination or harassment. Serving as a trusted resource within a four-year liberal arts college community, the position offers trauma‑informed guidance, helps individuals understand their options, and connects them to campus and external resources. The role also collaborates with campus partners to promote an inclusive learning and working environment while prioritizing the well‑being and autonomy of those seeking support. The role will also be a resource for all members of campus to receive education and training on issues related to discrimination and harassment. The anticipated compensation range for this position will be $40/hr. This is a casual, part-time, non-benefits eligible position working under 18 hours per week. Education/Skills Requirements Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience (1-3 years) in a related field is required. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hire. Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents Experience with advocacy, support, or facilitation work, including experience supporting those experiencing discrimination and/or harassment of any kind Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate awareness of how identity, power, and bias affect lived experiences. Preferred experience with Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and/or the Maine Human Rights Act Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and ethical boundaries, with consistent discretion in handling sensitive information. Experience training, especially training on complex legal topics, civil rights, and/or challenging multifaceted topics Experience working with complex and challenging topics within a system or institution This is a casual, part-time, non-benefits eligible position working under 18 hours per week. Variable and flexible hours with a maximum eighteen hours of work per week, the majority of which may be done with a hybrid work schedule. Mandatory minimum of five hours on campus (up to eight hours) per week for on-campus meetings with students or employees and for any on-campus OIEC administrative tasks. On-going availability for telephone or remote communication with students or employees on an as-needed basis. Attend relevant student and campus events on an ad hoc basis.
