Bookkeeper - Ellen Myers Elementary School

Core Responsibilities Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate journals of all revenues and disbursements, including general funds and restricted accounts for clubs or student organizations. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process purchase orders, pay school bills, and manage vendor requests for payment while ensuring price accuracy and fund availability. Monetary Management: Collect and receipt all monies (e.g., student fees, ticket sales, fundraisers, donations) and prepare regular bank deposits. Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all practices adhere to the Tennessee Internal School Uniform Accounting Policy Manual and district policies. Provide all necessary documentation for annual audits. Reporting: Prepare monthly balance sheets, reconciliation reports, and year-end financial statements for the principal and Central Office Finance Department. Administrative Support: Assist the principal with budget development and monitoring, and occasionally serve as back-up for other office staff or administer basic first aid if needed. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; some districts prefer post-secondary education or training in accounting.
