Accounting Manager, AWS Supply Chain Accounting

You will contribute to optimize AWS’s supply chain, capturing operational benefits in terms of continuity of supply and cost efficiency. This position will have responsibility for:• Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.• End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.• Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.• Execute judgments to keep business and accounting projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.• Escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership.• Strong sense of ownership.• Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization.• Enhance partnerships between accounting and business, finance, tax, trade compliance and IT groups.• Research, conclude and memorialize technical accounting position papers.Basic qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or Bachelor's degree- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experiencePreferred qualification - CPA- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients- 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)- 4+ years of transactional accounting field experienceAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Los Angeles County applicants: Job duties for this position include: work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff; adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions; communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service; and follow all federal, state, and local laws and Company policies. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
