Leads Ohio’s commitment to addressing threats and challenges of terrorism. Responsibilities Supervise production of all Public Safety Intelligence Analysts assigned to the Terrorism Analysis Unit. Oversee and coordinate policies developed by public safety intelligence analysts to ensure consistency and efficiency (e.g., policies and protocols for state and local governmental entities in homeland security, counter‑terrorism, and protection of critical infrastructure and resources in the State of Ohio). Develop and implement all homeland security intelligence production processes, including preparation and revision of manuals, policies, programs, proposed rules, regulations, and directives directly related to the fusion center. Utilize a state vehicle to travel to various locations and transport equipment (e.g., laptop, surveillance equipment) to collect, research, and analyze intelligence information and other resources to determine patterns, trends, and movements of terrorists and/or professional criminals to aid law enforcement agencies with investigations. Audit and ensure compliance with 28 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations). Attend meetings and provide briefs and advice to public officials (e.g., Department of Public Safety Director, State HSA). Qualifications Option 1: 48 months of experience conducting research and writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical, and/or statistical research techniques. Option 2: Completion of a graduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs, or related field, AND 12 months of experience conducting research and writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical, and/or statistical research techniques. Option 3: 12 months of experience as a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst (64931) OR equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment listed above. Supplemental Information Training and development: Must obtain LEADS certification if required; renew biannually. May need to obtain and maintain a secret‑level federal security clearance. Unusual working conditions: May require some travel. Working hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational need. This position is essential and may require report for duty during any public safety emergency. Background Check Information BCI and FBI fingerprint check, background check including polygraph examination, may be required.
