Controller

Position Overview The Controller is a key member of 10 Federal's accounting leadership team, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across the company's self‑storage portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Accounting, this is a hands‑on leadership role that requires strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to develop and manage a high‑performing team. Responsibilities Manage all day‑to‑day accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and month‑end/year‑end close. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee property‑level financial reporting and performance analysis across the 10 Federal portfolio. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor actuals against budget and communicate variances. Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and banking relationships. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax obligations; coordinate with external tax advisors. Serve as the primary contact for external auditors; coordinate audit preparation and resolve findings. Partner with HR and Engage PEO to ensure payroll accuracy and proper financial recording. Maintain and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team; manage workload and support professional growth. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred. Public Accounting experience preferred Experience in commercial real estate with open/closed ended Fund structures 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficiency with accounting software, advanced Excel skill and forward thinking with automation Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly to non‑finance stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr 10Federal Partners Inc
