Locum Tenens Cardiology Physician Requirements

• Board Certification in Cardiology required
• Cardiology fellowship training required
• Active New Jersey medical license required, or willingness to obtain before start
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiology experience required
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• NPDB Self-Query report, completed within 30 days, required at presentation

Locum Tenens Cardiologist Responsibilities

• Provide non-invasive cardiology coverage in the inpatient setting and on-call coverage
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular conditions
• Perform and interpret echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), EKGs, and treadmill stress tests
• Collaborate with other cardiologists to support seamless patient care and coverage continuity
• Respond to weekend cardiology call coverage and communicate promptly with the care team as needed
• Maintain clear documentation and communication in the EMR to support coordinated cardiology care
