Medical Billing Specialist - Surgical Practice A well-established surgical practice with 10+ affiliated offices is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join its growing revenue cycle team. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented billing professional with strong medical coding knowledge and operative report experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced surgical environment. Responsibilities Verify insurance coverage for patient encounters Update patient demographics and insurance information in Nextech Accurately enter medical charges and ensure timely claim submission Review and analyze operative reports to abstract information for accurate coding Maintain EMR and Scheduled Not Billed reports Complete workers' compensation and no-fault forms Review daily charge-entry reports for accuracy and completeness Send non-participating letters to new patients Assist with additional billing and revenue cycle responsibilities as needed Qualifications 3+ years of medical billing experience Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding In-depth understanding of medical coding guidelines and practices Proven ability to review operative reports for accurate coding Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment High School Diploma or GED required Associate Degree in Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or related field preferred CPC certification preferred Why Consider This Opportunity?
