Bon Secours Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, VA, is looking for skilled and enthusiastic healthcare professionals to provide urgent OB/GYN coverage during a critical period. What You’ll Do: Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in a hospital setting, including deliveries, C-sections, routine exams, and emergency procedures. Cover both hospital call and outpatient clinic shifts, with schedules tailored to meet varying needs from May through July, potentially beyond. Collaborate with a dedicated team of OBHG hospitalists, surgical assistants, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Manage a diverse patient population, including high-risk pregnancies, with support from experienced Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists. Utilize the EPIC EMR system to document and coordinate patient care efficiently and accurately. Required Skills & Qualifications: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution with valid medical license in VA or the ability to obtain licensure. Proven experience in obstetrics and gynecology, including deliveries and emergency procedures. Ability to handle a diverse caseload confidently, including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and urgent gynecologic interventions. Strong communication, team collaboration, and critical thinking skills. Availability to cover specified dates from May through July, with flexibility for ongoing coverage. Nice to Have Skills & Experience: Previous experience in hospitalist or urgent care OB/GYN settings. Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records. Bilingual abilities or additional language skills. Experience working with high-risk pregnancies and complex cases. Preferred Education & Experience: Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN. Minimum of 2 years post-residency clinical experience. Experience in hospital-based obstetrics, including high-volume delivery units. Other Requirements: Willingness to work both inpatient hospital shifts and outpatient clinic days as needed. Ability to handle emergency procedures such as suction delivery, ectopic pregnancy management, and ovarian torsion interventions. Credentialing can take 60-90 days; temporary privileges may be available for providers with a clean background and no malpractice history.
