Community Outreach Specialist

Community 247 is seeking enthusiastic, outgoing, and community-minded volunteers to serve as Community Outreach Specialists . In this role, volunteers represent Community 247 at community events and outreach activities, helping to increase awareness of the organization's programs, workshops, and community resources.

Volunteers will staff outreach tables, engage with community members, distribute informational materials, and encourage individuals to subscribe to Community 247's newsletter and participate in workshops and events.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

• Represent Community 247 professionally at community events, fairs, festivals, and outreach activities.
• Engage attendees in conversations about Community 247's mission, programs, services, and workshops.
• Build positive relationships with community members, organizations, and event participants.
• Answer general questions about Community 247 programs and services.

Outreach Table Setup & Management

• Assist with transporting, setting up, and breaking down Community 247 outreach displays, materials, and promotional items.
• Maintain an attractive, organized, and welcoming outreach table.
• Ensure brochures, flyers, resource materials, and giveaway items are well-stocked throughout the event.

Recruitment & List Building

• Encourage community members to sign up for Community 247's email newsletter and distribution list.
• Collect contact information from individuals interested in learning more about programs and services.
• Promote enrollment and participation in Community 247 workshops, events, and activities.
• Assist individuals with event registration when applicable.

Program Promotion

• Share information about upcoming workshops, community events, and volunteer opportunities.
• Distribute promotional materials throughout the community and at outreach events.
• Help increase visibility and awareness of Community 247's programs and initiatives.

Reporting & Follow-Up

• Document outreach interactions and the number of contacts collected during events.
• Provide feedback on community interests, needs, and questions received from attendees.
• Assist with organizing collected registration forms and contact information following events.

Desired Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for community service and helping others connect with valuable resources.
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
• Basic organizational and customer service skills.
• Previous outreach, sales, marketing, or community engagement experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods during events.
