MBG Repair Technician

Job Details Location: MBG FL - Fort Pierce, FL 34946 Position Summary The Repair Technician is responsible for repairing any issues on fiberglass hulls, decks, and small parts in compliance with takt times. A variety of tasks are performed to repair each boat, requiring the use of both power and non‑power hand tools. Responsibilities Use high‑speed pneumatic or battery powered tools (buffers, power sanders, etc.) and hand tools safely and effectively. Spray and repair nonskid gel coat. Sand and buff problem areas to create a smooth, shiny surface. Paint over thin or damaged areas of gel coat to create a flawless surface, matching the new finish to the existing gel coat. Perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast‑paced environment while wearing all required PPE and following safety policy and hazardous material guidelines. Practice good housekeeping by keeping work areas clean at all times. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High School diploma, GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior gel coat and/or auto‑body experience preferred. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands Sits: 2 hours Stands: 7 hours Walks: 1 hour Drives: 0 hours Lifts: Max 50 lbs (frequently 15 lbs, occasionally 30 lbs) Repetitive hand use: Constant right and left grasping; right pushing/pulling frequently. Feet repetitive activity: Right and left occasional. Activities: Bending at waist (frequent), squatting (frequent), climbing ladders/stairs (frequent), kneeling on ground (frequent), reaching above shoulder (frequent). Work Environment The work environment includes heat/cold, dust/dampness, chemical exposure, noise, and resin. PPE requirements are Safety glasses, respirator, cut gloves, dust mask, safety goggles, and hard hat.
