Our Organization

The Pediatrics Department at our institution is on the lookout for a full-time Pediatric Neurologist to become part of the faculty at our Children's Hospital, which is the sole pediatric facility in northeastern New York and affiliated with our medical college.

Position Overview

We are in search of a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric neurologist to enhance our expanding clinical program. We welcome candidates with a focus on general pediatric neurology , and those with specialized training in epilepsy are particularly encouraged to apply.

About the Pediatric Neurology Division

• Three full-time pediatric neurologists
• Three nurse practitioners
• Four part-time attending physicians
• Neuropsychologist, psychologist, and social worker
• Strong nursing and administrative support

Clinical and Academic Setting

• A collaborative network of pediatric subspecialists within the Children's Hospital
• Close ties with adult neurology divisions specializing in epilepsy, neuromuscular, vascular, and movement disorders
• An established epilepsy surgery program with potential for increased pediatric involvement
• A vibrant academic atmosphere with opportunities to educate medical students, residents, and fellows
• Faculty appointment at our medical college, with academic rank determined by experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient and outpatient care in pediatric neurology
• Engage in teaching and supervising medical students and residents
• Contribute to the development of specialized programs in epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, or other areas of interest
• Participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary patient care within the Children's Hospital

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Neurology
• Interest in general pediatric neurology; subspecialty training in epilepsy is a plus
• Dedication to clinical care, education, and academic medicine
