About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief of Staff for the Office of Community Safety. The successful candidate will serve as the principal advisor to the Commissioner, leading the office in driving organizational strategy, and ensuring alignment across various divisions. This role is pivotal in the whole-of-government approach to violence prevention and public safety, with a focus on gun violence, hate crime, and domestic violence prevention. The Chief of Staff will also be responsible for overseeing strategic initiatives, external affairs, and communications, and will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to advance the office's mission and strategic priorities. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years' professional experience in government, public administration, public policy, communications, intergovernmental affairs, strategy, or a related field. The role requires a candidate with excellent political judgment, strong strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills. The Chief of Staff will be expected to manage multiple priorities, lead teams, and foster collaboration to ensure the effective execution of executive priorities. Responsibilities also include supervising staff, representing the Commissioner in various meetings, and serving as the primary liaison to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex initiatives and building consensus in a fast-paced environment.
