Registered Nurse (RN) Bruce Hall Detox Unit - PRN (Marion Medical Center)

Position: Nursing – PRN (as needed) – Bruce Hall Detox Unit, MUSC Marion Medical Center. Responsibilities Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. Provides patient and family centered care using the nursing process, focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. Includes assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with MUSC policies. Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment by ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Demonstrates professionalism by participating in shared governance, adhering to standards of care, engaging in peer review and professional development, promoting leadership and clinical excellence, and practicing autonomous accountability and critical thinking. Coordinates effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles, identifies clinical priorities, and initiates actions to improve patient outcomes. Demonstrates proficiency in shared governance, promotes a healthy work environment, and accepts personal responsibility for professional growth. Minimum Requirements Associate's Degree in Nursing. Minimum one year of registered nurse experience. Registered nurse licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking vitals, administering injections, or conducting exams. Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed. Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors. Auditory ability to effectively communicate and perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions. Stamina and resilience to handle physical and emotional demands of patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations. Mobility to navigate clinical environments, moving between patient rooms, offices, and other facility areas. Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
