Position Summary: Under general supervision, performs highly responsible machine work in maintaining zoological park buildings and equipment to enhance visitor experience and care for the animal collection.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Performs general maintenance or specialized work with regard to metal, welding, cement and stonework.
• Tasks include masonry repair, fabrication of steel, stainless steel and aluminum animal enclosures, gates and fences along with general repair of machinery.
• Assemble scaffolding
• Operate compressor, torch, or other machine shop equipment.
• Will be required to respond to snow and storm related emergencies to assist with removal and clean-up operations during normal and off-normal business hours
• Perform related tasks and duties as required.
