Production Supervisor – Industrial (Pipe Mill)

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a heavy industrial pipe mill environment, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. This role leads crews, coordinates workflow, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities on the shop floor
• Lead and manage a team of operators, laborers, and technicians
• Ensure production targets, schedules, and KPIs are consistently met
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance for troubleshooting and repairs
• Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations
• Conduct shift meetings, assign tasks, and track employee performance
• Review production reports, downtime logs, and quality metrics
• Collaborate with quality control to ensure products meet specifications
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Train and mentor employees on procedures, safety, and equipment use

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience in pipe mills, steel production, or heavy equipment operations preferred
• Strong knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules and technical documentation
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage teams in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills (reports, scheduling, production tracking)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with PLC systems, controls, and industrial maintenance coordination
• Familiarity with welding processes, forming, or pipe manufacturing equipment
• Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Environment

• Heavy industrial / pipe mill setting
• Exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery
• Standing, walking, and supervising on the production floor for extended periods

Schedule

• Must be flexible to work rotating shifts (days/nights)
• Availability for weekends and overtime as required
