Student Advocate, Platte Valley Youth Services (2026-2027 School Year) Classification: Non-exempt Date Posted: May 28, 2026 Salary: $21.12 per hour plus benefits (range 20). Additional credit up to $33.85 per hour for internal transfers and recent rehires. Reports to: Family Center Coordinator Job Summary Work with identified students who are at‑risk for dropping out. Collaborate with parents, school staff, and community agencies to provide behavioral supports. Collect and monitor student data, creating an enriched atmosphere where students acquire skills contributing to their development as mature, responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth, and ultimately graduation. Responsible to the building principal. Essential Functions Identify at‑risk students to receive support based on grant criteria. Contact high school‑aged students who are not currently enrolled, attend infrequently, wish to re‑enroll, or are returning from expulsion. Determine interventions and support for each student (Tier 2 – targeted; Tier 3 – intensive). Conduct interviews to remove barriers and create individualized plans for credit completion and graduation progress. Conduct individual and/or group learning sessions. Maintain teacher and student contact paperwork. Maintain daily and weekly contact support logs. Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required. Collect and report at‑risk indicators and student progress data. Serve as key contact among student, parent, and school staff. Interface with students and staff to increase academic success through activities such as reviewing grades, scheduling, and providing access to tutoring and other academic interventions. Other Duties Must be able to follow oral and written directions and establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Requires visual, auditory, and ambulatory ability. Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict management, and organizational skills. Empathetic, positive relationship builder, and fully capable of performing all listed responsibilities. Regular attendance is required. Supervisory Responsibilities None Work Environment & Physical Demands Ability to sit for long periods with numerous distractions. Visual, auditory, and ambulatory acuity important. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
