Gastroenterologist Opportunity - DeTar Healthcare System (Victoria, TX)
Build the region's GI presence in a high-demand market

DeTar Healthcare System is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist to establish a full-scope practice within our growing health system. This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a community with significant unmet GI demand , supported by a strong primary care network and surgical team.

• Hospital-employed role with full administrative and operational support
• No existing dedicated GI provider onsite - general surgeons currently manage GI call and perform colonoscopies/EGDs
• High community need with substantial referral volume ready on day one
• Inpatient/Outpatient mix: flexible; proportions shaped by candidate preference and demand
• Clinic schedule: Mon-Thu: 8am-5pm; Fri: 8am-12pm (half day)
  
  
• Clinic volume: 20-25 patients per clinic session
• Procedures:
  • Current surgical team performs colonoscopies and EGDs; ERCP preferred but not required
  • Strong opportunity to expand GI procedural offerings and volumes
  • General surgeons will continue to share GI ER call; new GI can expect 10 days of call per month
• APP Support
  
  
  • Two NPs currently support general surgery and can support GI
  • Plan to add additional NP as volumes grow
• Resident Mentorship: opportunity to teach Family Medicine residents who rotate through specialty departments
