Manager, Political Affairs

Reports to: SeniorVice President, Federal and Political Affairs Job Summary: Finseca is looking for a political engagement professional to be part of the team that runs our political programs. This role works directly with members on PAC and candidate fundraising, member education, and grassroots and grasstops activation. You'll own a large advocate portfolio, carrying individual and event fundraising goals, coordinating legislative meetings, and recruiting members and developing them into high-quality political advocates. You'll plan and execute our political trainings and annual fly-in. Duties & Responsibilities Execute Finseca's Ambassador Program and political advocacy strategy for Finseca's growing membership. The Ambassador Program is Finseca's political engagement program designed to build grasstops relationships between our members and policymakers. Core program responsibilities are: Plan and execute fundraising events, owning event-level goals and conducting individual fundraising outreach Work with external partners to organize meetings between Ambassadors and policymakers Recruit and develop new Finseca Ambassadors and donors Develop strategies to expand member engagement and advocacy activity Manage day-to-day operations of Finseca's PAC, including: Process and track disbursements, coordinating with the SVP on candidate contribution decisions and maintaining the disbursement calendar against budget Manage receipts and contributor records, ensuring activity complies with FEC regulations and Finseca's PAC policies Coordinate with outside counsel on FEC filings and reconciliation Maintain criteria and documentation for contribution decisions, and report on PAC performance against fundraising and disbursement goals Design and deliver political trainings for members, and manage planning and on-site execution of Finseca's annual fly-in Work across the Association to raise member awareness of Finseca's political programs through membership communications, website materials, and Finseca meetings and events Track legislative developments affecting the financial security profession and the broader political environment Support the federal and state teams on legislative and policy strategy and engagement Communicate political and legislative updates to members Maintain the database as the system of record for all political activity, ensuring records are accurate, timely, and complete Draft and deploy grassroots activations, donor drives, and other membership-wide initiatives Represent Finseca at political fundraising events and candidate meetings Other duties as required Skills & Experience 4–6 years of experience in political operations, political or PAC fundraising, or a campaign setting Strong political fundraising background, including event management, individual solicitation of both major and small-dollar contributions, and donor stewardship Demonstrated ability to build relationships with members, policymakers, and other key stakeholders Experience planning advocacy events in Washington, DC and in districts and states throughout the year, and managing an ongoing engagement strategy Working knowledge of FEC rules and PAC compliance Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking Sound independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and a high degree of organization Experience with Quorum, BGOV, or comparable CRM and advocacy platforms a plus Education: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, exempt position Travel Some travel is expected for this position. Compensation and Benefits: Pay range $80,000-$90,000 (depending on skills and relevant experience) This is a full time, exempt position. Salary commensurate with experience.
