Design Release Engineer - Interior Components

Job Summary As a Hard Trim and Overhead Systems DRE, you will be responsible for developing and integrating hard trim and overhead components into the vehicle interior. Responsibilities Hard Trim components Overhead systems components Development Activities Definition of requirements Execution of design Testing and validation Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead and drive a cross-functional product development team: Within Engineering Interior Restraints Systems Body Systems CCC Overhead and Hard Trim components Electrical System HVAC System Cargo Management System Outside of Engineering Creative Design Purchasing Manufacturing Quality Suppliers Education Required Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred) Experience Required 3 or more years of DRE experience developing and executing technical solutions for injection molded and/or compression molded interior components Knowledge of plastic materials, compression molding, and injection molding Experience resolving ergonomic issues related to hard trim or overhead systems at a vehicle OEM Balancing business imperatives, including cost, mass, complexity, and timing Comfort working with multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and rapid change in a results-driven environment Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, and GD&T Preferred Skills Previous DRE experience Familiarity with structured problem solving methods such as: Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) – Green belt certification or higher Red-X #J-18808-Ljbffr
