Executive Director, Surgery Services - CLOSED

Saint Francis Hospital, a 1,112-bed tertiary, faith-based hospital, based in Tulsa, OK, has an outstanding opportunity for a new Executive Director of Surgery Services. Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to conduct this key search.

Opportunity: The Executive Director is responsible for the planning, operation, customer satisfaction, patient safety, program development and financial performance of Surgery Services, composed of the main OR, anesthesia, ambulatory surgery center, central sterile, endoscopy, perfusion services, pre-op, and PACU. The main OR has 31 rooms and operates 24/7/365. Another eight rooms are at the ambulatory surgery center (plus pain rooms). Volumes are approximately 26,000 annually. Case types are everything but transplants, with CV, trauma and ortho/neruo as major service lines. Direct reports are 10 managers with a total staff compliment of nearly 500. Surgery Services is near completion of a five-year, $100M project that will result in an environment that ranks in the Top 10 in the nation.


Candidate Profile : The ideal candidate is one who has effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Must be accomplished in program development, strategic planning, team building, and developing physician relationships. A focus on the patient should be the centerpiece of a managerial philosophy.


Prior experience in a complex OR is necessary, ideally with CV/trauma. A Bachelor's Degree is required with a Master's in Nursing, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred. A CNOR is preferred, as is AORN membership.
