Residential Services (ASAM Level 3.5) | Full-Time | Exempt

Department: Clinical Inpatient • Reports To: Chief Clinical Officer

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (evenings and weekends as needed)

About the Role

Anuvia is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead clinical operations for our inpatient and residential substance use disorder treatment programs. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership and administrative oversight, ensure high-quality client care, drive regulatory compliance, and develop the policies and programming that shape how we serve our community. You will supervise clinical supervisors and program leadership while ensuring our residential program meets ASAM Level 3.5 standards.

What You'll Do

• Provide overall clinical leadership and administrative oversight for assigned inpatient and residential programs.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and support clinical supervisors and program leadership staff, including recruitment, hiring, and performance management.
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with agency policies, professional standards, and ethical guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including 10A NCAC 27G rules.
• Develop, implement, and revise clinical policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Monitor service delivery to ensure client needs are met safely, effectively, and timely.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation; review clinical records, incidents, grievances, and audits, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Lead quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage clinical budgets, staffing resources, and program-related expenses.
• Develop and implement new clinical programming, and arrange or provide staff training to maintain regulatory compliance and clinical competency.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with internal departments and external partners.
• Respond to emergencies and critical incidents involving client or staff safety.

Residential Services (ASAM Level 3.5) Responsibilities

• Ensure the program structure and service delivery model meet ASAM Level 3.5 requirements.
• Ensure admission, continued stay, and discharge decisions align with ASAM Criteria.
• Ensure required assessments, person-centered plans, and timelines specific to ASAM 3.5 are met.
• Ensure delivery of required clinical service intensity and structured programming.
• Ensure continuity of care through coordination with other ASAM levels of care.
• Ensure availability of 24/7 program oversight, directly or through designated leadership.
• Ensure the program is prepared for monitoring, audits, and reviews specific to ASAM 3.5 services.
• Provide direct clinical services as needed to support operations.

What You Bring

• Master's degree in human services.
• Active, unrestricted licensure: LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LCAS, LCAS-A, or CCS. Dual licensure in mental health and substance use disorder treatment is preferred.
• Five years of professional experience in mental health and substance use disorder treatment (required).
• Two years of clinical supervisory experience (required).
• Verifiable knowledge of community recovery resources, state licensing statutes, and pertinent Medicaid regulations.
• Program development, implementation, and management skills.
• Ability to document in an Electronic Health Records system and proficiency with MS Office applications.
