RN - PACU Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.) Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience in PACU License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Acute care nursing, patient assessment, care plan development, care plan implementation, care plan evaluation Description:A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients.The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit while promoting their professional development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care.The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities:Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition.The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care.The RN reviews and revises the plan as indicated, collaborates with patients and families, and utilizes interdisciplinary services.The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs and as appropriate during their stay and discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.The RN functions as a mentor/preceptor and demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork.The RN identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement.The RN participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes.The RN complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model. #J-18808-Ljbffr
