Customer Service Representative, ImportPosition Title: Customer Service Representative, ImportLocation: South San Francisco, CA (Onsite)Industry: Freight Forwarding/ Global LogisticsClassification: Full-Time, TemporaryWork Schedules: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with a one-hour lunch break)Summary A global logistics and freight forwarding company that specializes in international air and ocean freight, customs brokerage, and supply chain solutions is looking for an Import Customer Service Representative to join their team. This person will give clients excellent support on their import shipments. They will answer questions and resolve issues by phone and email, and make sure every client gets accurate, timely, and professional service. This is a good fit for a detail-oriented professional who wants to build a career in international logistics.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Take the right steps to resolve customer problems and concerns, using all available tools to meet customer needs on the first contact.Answer incoming phone calls and emails promptly, professionally, and effectively.Give timely and accurate updates on transportation status and shipment progress, following company guidelines for customer inquiries.Work with other departments outside of Import Customer Service to correct and resolve shipment discrepancies.Escalate unique or complex issues to the right supervisor when needed.Spot potential problems early and solve unexpected issues as they come up.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications RequiredPrior experience in one or more of these areas: supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, call center, or administrative/clerical workAdvanced English communication skills, both written and verbalAble to work on-site Monday through FridayAble to meet tight deadlines and stay effective under pressureStrong attention to detail with excellent organization and time management skillsStrong customer service mindset; focused, responsive, and people-orientedCollaborative team playerAble to learn new software and systems quicklyPreferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience in a similar roleExperience with import shipments, customs documentation, or freight forwarding processesFamiliarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or shipment tracking platformsAbout Us At Staffmark, we connect hardworking people with great companies, creating opportunities that make a lasting impact.
