Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist near Huntersville, NC. This full-time, itinerant position supports students across different locations, providing essential OT services while covering a maternity leave through early 2028. Desired Qualifications:
- Active, valid North Carolina Occupational Therapist (OT) license (must provide proof with application)
- Previous school-based OT experience, ideally with itinerant assignments
- Familiarity with ECATS (Exceptional Children Accountability Tracking System) for managing records and services
- Skilled in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families to enhance student success
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students identified through special education programs, supporting developmental and functional skills
- Complete thorough assessments and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Travel between assigned school sites to deliver services (itinerant model)
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely records utilizing ECATS and district systems
- Participate actively in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development initiatives
Additional Details:
- Maternity leave assignment—anticipated to run ASAP through January 31, 2028
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Interviews conducted via Zoom for efficient and convenient scheduling
