Assistant Controller /Senior Fund Accountant (New York City Metropolitan Area)

Compensation: Up to 300k TOTAL COMPENSATION (including bonus) depending on years of experience
Title: VP Controller or AVP Assistant Controller depending on years of experience
Base: 135-210k base
Bonus: 25-50%
A NYC based Private Equity Firm (Closed and Open ended funds) is looking to bring on an Controller OR Assistant Controller to join their team!
The ideal profile is for a candidate with 4-12+ years of experience from either a public accounting firm or from another PE of Hedge Fund.
The firm has been a great track record and name in the industry while employing over 100 people. They have a multi-strategy approach doing credit as well as traditional PE and some Venture Capital . The successful candidate will have an opportunity to have exposure to all.
-Responsible for month end close and accuracy of fund accounting, reporting, analysis and special projects, including developing a comprehensive understanding of products traded and processes utilized.
-Oversee business valuations for illiquid portfolio company investments using multiple valuation techniques and update quarterly and annual valuation memos
-Managed entire accounting process for two investment vehicles, including coordination of the month-end close process, daily and weekly estimate PnL reporting to front office
-Take part in investor relations including reports and occasionally dealing with the investors directly as needed
-Monitor illiquid investment valuation models
- Assist deal teams on technical accounting reviews and legal diligence of current transactions and acquisitions in pipeline
-Prepare capital call analysis
-Work directly with portfolio company CFOs on finance matters
-Create automation and work with IT and Consultants on automation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience
Profile:
Ideal profile with be someone who is a Senior Associate or Manager from public or someone with 4+ years of experience from a hedge, private equity, mutual, VC, BDC or other fund (including admins)
Base up to 200 Bonus up to 25%-50% of base depending on years of experience
