Are you a Tax Senior who feels ready for more responsibility, better client exposure and a clearer route toward Manager?

A growing public accounting firm in New York is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join its tax practice.

This is a hands-on role where you'll take real ownership of your engagements. You'll work directly with clients, handle increasingly complex tax matters, supervise junior staff and work closely with Managers and Partners throughout the year.

Rather than being limited to one area of tax, you'll gain exposure across individuals, privately held businesses, partnerships, trusts and estates , giving you the opportunity to develop a broad technical foundation while deciding where you want to specialise longer term.

What You'll Be Working On

You'll manage tax engagements from initial preparation through to final Partner review, including:

• Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary and gift tax returns .
• Take ownership of engagements with increasing independence.
• Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions and develop strong relationships.
• Assist with year-round tax planning rather than focusing solely on busy-season compliance.
• Research federal and state tax matters and apply your findings to client situations.
• Identify potential tax issues and planning opportunities.
• Review work prepared by Staff Accountants and provide constructive feedback.
• Train and mentor junior members of the tax team.
• Work directly with Managers and Partners on more complex client matters.
• Manage multiple engagements while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

• 5–8 years of public accounting tax experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Master's in Taxation is beneficial but not required.
• CPA preferred , or actively working toward licensure.
• Strong tax compliance and research experience.
• Experience with a mixture of individual and business taxation.
• Confidence communicating directly with clients.
• Experience reviewing or supervising junior professionals.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Experience with professional tax and accounting software.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and QuickBooks.
